Pediatric coronary z-scores
Coronary artery z-scores adjusted for body size, classified for Kawasaki disease by the AHA 2017 statement.
Boston z-scores (McCrindle 2007) and AHA 2017 Kawasaki statement
How it's calculated
Boston z-scores
z = (measured diameter − predicted mean) ÷ predicted SD LMCA: mean = 0.31747 × BSA^0.36008 − 0.02887, SD = 0.03040 + 0.01514 × BSA LAD: mean = 0.26108 × BSA^0.37893 − 0.02852, SD = 0.01465 + 0.01996 × BSA RCA: mean = 0.26117 × BSA^0.39992 − 0.02756, SD = 0.02407 + 0.01597 × BSADiameters in cm inside the formulas. BSA by Haycock: 0.024265 × weight^0.5378 × height^0.3964.
AHA 2017 classification
- z under 2: no involvement.
- z 2 to under 2.5: dilation only.
- z 2.5 to under 5: small aneurysm.
- z 5 to under 10, and under 8 mm: medium aneurysm.
- z 10 or more, or 8 mm or more: large or giant aneurysm.
